Hutton’s, the UK’s leading ship supplier, has bucked the current recessionary trend and announced record sales figures for the month of July – up by 37% on 2008 figures.
Sales for July were more than 24% above target. Managing Director Alex Taylor says: “This is an exceptional achievement made possible by the hard work and dedication from all the Hutton’s team. Hutton’s continues to go from strength to strength.”
Hutton’s Sales Manager Jon Hickey explains: “This record figure is a result of increases in the oil and gas market for us, combined with greater volumes of business through new contracts we have signed recently. We strive to ensure that vessels can use Hutton’s at any port within the UK.”
Key areas contributing to the Hutton’s rise in sales have been, Aberdeen (offshore market), Leith (offshore Market) and Tees, while a further growth area was seen at Great Yarmouth where Hutton’s has been supplying vessels in the offshore support industry. The opening of the new LNG terminal at The Dragon in Milford Haven, has also resulted in increased work for Hutton’s, which recently expanded its business by acquiring former Pan Europe Ship Supply Ltd.
